We keep cookies to the minimum needed to run our Services. This page lists the cookies we use and explains how you can control them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them. Cookies can be set by the site you visit (first-party) or by another service the site uses (third-party).
2. Our approach: essential cookies only
By default, PapelSoftware uses only cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for, such as keeping you signed in or securing a form. These cookies do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising.
Our public marketing website at papelsoftware.com does not currently set any cookies when you browse it. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels or third-party analytics cookies.
3. Cookies we use
The following strictly necessary cookies are used in signed-in areas and during checkout:
| Cookie | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Signed-in areas of our Products (dashboards and billing portal) | Keeps you signed in and links your requests to your account. | Until you sign out, or up to 30 days |
| Security (CSRF) cookie | Signed-in areas and forms that change account data | Protects against cross-site request forgery. | Session |
| Stripe cookies | Stripe-hosted checkout and billing pages | Set by Stripe to process payments securely and prevent fraud. | Set by Stripe; see Stripe's cookie policy |
Because these cookies are required for the service to work, they do not require consent under the laws that govern cookies, such as the EU ePrivacy Directive. You can still block them in your browser, but signing in and checkout will not work.
4. Analytics and future changes
If we decide to use analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy first and, where required by law, ask for your consent through a cookie banner before setting them. Non-essential cookies will stay off until you choose to allow them, and you will be able to change your choice at any time.
5. Applications we build for clients
Applications that we build or host for our clients, and Papel Copilot widgets embedded on client websites, may set their own cookies. Those cookies are controlled by the client, and the client’s cookie and privacy notices apply.
6. How to control cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies through their settings. You can usually find these under “Privacy” or “Settings” in your browser’s menu:
- Google Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions
Our website does not respond differently to Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signals because we do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. If we introduce such cookies, we will honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out where required by law.
For more on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy and the table above whenever we change the cookies we use, and update the “Last updated” date. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
